Fogg 427
Has anyone used white antifouling in the Auckland / Gulf area? How practical is it before it becomes unsightly vs black?
Island Time 1,211
Not in Auckland, and but I used petite? Vivid white when I did the solo tasman. Great when your racing, easy to see the foils ( for weed/debris) but needed wiping every 3-4 weeks.
Black Panther 1,568
I did my first keelboat in white when first launched. Changed at first haulout and never went back.
Fogg 427
Maybe treat myself to it 1st season but be ready to go back to black later...
Black Panther 1,568
I'm learning to love my coppercoat. Mostly around the time I would have had to repaint otherwise.
strath 4
I have had good sucess with Light Grey Warpaint in Gulf Harbour, but like all antifoiling you need to wipe off the brown silt regularly
tuffyluffy 76
I use white Petite Vivid White primarily because my hull is alloy and Petite Vivid doesnt contain copper. Seems to work fine but does need a regularly wipe to stay looking good.
Cameron 74
If you want to keep your boat near optimum performance then white is brilliant as you can easily see any fouling and remove it...

This was from Vancouver Island Canada to the Tuamotu used only on the amas. We found it was rather soft and scrubbed off easier than the zSpar ProGold on the main hull. (Also easier than Ultra-2) Recommend you add a few extra coats (beyond normal especially to the high wear areas).... if you want it last long term.
