Mahurangi Weekend?

Clipper

Recommended Posts

Any multis heading up that way next weekend? I have heard it is a good weekend of casual racing and socialising, but haven't heard any mumbles about anyone heading up that way this year.

Does anyone know what the story is? Is there an organizer? Or is eveyone away at BoI and not interested right now?

Subject to weather we are heading up there on Friday afternoon with Two 2 Tango and couple of other cruising multis, Bad Kitty promised scallops!!

TC used to organise stuff up there but he's at Bay week so will probably be meeting us at Kawau on Sunday nite.

Outlook:

Monday: Easing to northerly 20 knots early morning. Changing southwest 15 knots about midday. Rain easing to a few showers.

Tuesday: Southwest easing to 10 knots. A few showers and fine spells.

Wednesday: Variable 10 knots. Fine.

Fingers crossed.

when they all get back from BOI they will have done some miles.

The boys on the AC45 said they were going to do Anniverary Day so would b cool to see a good Multi turnout, although quite embarising if the starting is as dangerous and poor as some in the BOI with barging the norm.

Were you sailing in the multi fleet brucy?

Yessireebob we were there. You wernt were u?

Seems barging at the boat is the norm, as is giving room for no good reason. Wouldnt survive 5 min in an 88 or any other fleet of good starters.

Yeah but being on a boat that was hit by someone not giving room i would rather people gave room at high speeds than pushed the limit and wrote more boats off... Yes it might be different to how you sail 88's etc but they dont accelerate or close the gaps as quick as the multi's do. Plus we would rather all get the regatta done and have a good time than hit each other and spend the whole time repairing things. We dont bounce as well as leadswingers do.

The only way to stop barging is to protest.

A few DSQ on the scorecard will give the helm some focus.

Quite right Slacko, I believe they did and one of the culprits got a penalty.

Marshy that attitude is a crock of sh*t and it will cause dammage. While there are some of the multi fraturnity who expect that the racing rules dont apply to them, because their mates will just get out of the way even if they dont have to, it is an accident waiting to happen.

A fleet that consistantly sets up 1-2 boatlenghts above the start boat lay line and relys on everyone getting out of the way is crap and poor quality yachting.

Irrelevant!

Play the ball not the man, discuss the issues not personalities.

I would claim relevance. I don't think anyone is discussing personalities, rather trying to figure out if you were on the field playing or just a spectator with an opinion. One has slightly more weight over the other.

As I stated earlier in the thread, yes was in a boat in Division M, but comments would be just as relavant even if I was an observer from B division.

JH, if you keep putting your foot so deep in your mouth you will get tinnea of the throat. Think before you post or STFU. While you keep posting such drivell as you did on the BOI thread, I will serve u up.

So what now Brucey, not only are you the forum fisherman, trolling every thread for a bite, your now the self appointed moderator?

Its arse like you that put the majority off contributing here.

Sorry Fish, I can assure you I do not look for an argument. I steadfastly attempt to keep to the issues, and sailing ones at that.

I do say what I think is correct, even if that may be contrary to the opinion of other posters, even the most regular ones. Happy to be challenged on the opinions voiced.
