Guest
From that article In 1951 the old Lyttelton to Wellington ferry, Wahine, ran aground in the area as it was taking New Zealand forces to the Korea War.Guess what I'm never ever going to name a ferry.
wheels 543
Actually another thought on that. Why was the Ferry Northwest of OZ if it was going to Korea
wheels 543
Anyway, back to the Topic, so what kind of "rings" would they be talking about. Perhaps Rings around a Gaff Rig Mast??.....Or??
John B 106
' boutique sydney sailmaker '. Surely that would just take a phone call to narrow down some possibilities. And a blue mast isn't exactly common. Maybe the 'rings' are mast steps.
waikiore 397
Any one remember the Queen Charlotte disappeared with all hands , doubt whether she had blue masts, and must be 20 years ago not eight months....
Absolution 7
The blue rig has to be fairly unique. What colour was the mast on Silver Raider?

John B 106
Thanks OG, thats the one I was thinking about. This is the Sailworld article http://www.sail-world.com/index.cfm?Nid ... id=0&rid=6 The photo of the boat does show a lot of what look like mast steps( "Stainless rings"?) but its either a wooden or a brown painted mast , not blue.
