smithy09 50
Actually that photo shows it off really well. But 70 hours......... That's a killer. I hope it lasts!! Looking damn good AA.
Atom Ant 0
Well, progress at last. I've made some changes and significantly reduced the time it's taking. It's down from 30 minutes per square foot to 10 minutes per square foot. Yes, that's right folks a 66.6% reduction in time! "How?" I hear you ask. I changed from Farecla G3 to G6 which is a rapid grade compound, and I bought a different type of waffle pad. Looks similar to the one you gave me Mr Wolf only the foam is alot stiffer. Between the two of them, it's much much quicker. The photo below is after 20 hours of elapsed polishing time but does not take into account all the faffing around tilting the boat etc to get the boat ready to polish each time. Actually it doesn't really show that well - cheap phone shot but it's back to the M in Atom.
wheels 544
What!!?? you still going at that?? I thought you had finished ages ago. It's looking great ion that Pic. Just make sure you don;t get over zealous and go thorugh the coating.
Atom Ant 0
I'd hoped to, but the weather has been crap here for weeks, and it's my preference not to use power tools in the rain!
Atom Ant 0
Well - I've finished the port side, total polishing time = 24 hours. But it looks great. Once I've used the Farecla G6, that Ultraglozz from Sailutions really brings out the shine. So now I expect that I'll be able to do the starboard side in around 12 hours and teh transom in around 4 hours (it's fiddly and alot has to be done by hand) given that I'll be using G6 on the entire side along with my flash firm waffle head. I'll do one more photo once the whole thing is done.
