EPIRB, PLB, Tracker. What's the difference?

One example Rehab.

And you didn't say what the weather conditions were.

I am already aware of the details of that incident via a person on the boat, and it certainly wasn't a storm at sea.

Likewise, I can go and find any number of news or coroners reports of guys going overboard at anchor in sheltered bays etc. While the incident you site was underway, it started off in calm and benign conditions.

with all  the vessels having AIS a crew member is dead as a result:  non recovery : not found.

hmm, I've had AIS for 6 years. Lost no crew members I can recall....:-)

For a MOB situation, I would rather an AIS SART than a DSC radio, or a PLB. IMO the best chance of pickup is from the boat you fell from. AIS Sart gives a position on the chart in the boat, and it's very simple to go back. Anyone capable of using or understanding the plotter can do it. Same for any other vessel in range.

However, a handheld vhf/ais/sart would be great, but I've not seen one yet.

Hay Rehab,

Are you responding to IT or me?

Your post does not make sense.

Now your talking about aids and screwing the captains wife. We're just talking about DSC and AIS.....
