SloopJohnB 329
Not much to say.........
waikiore 485
Look for significant speed increase on this test boat, particularly to weather. They have been working hard.
waikiore 485
ETNZ challenger for this years Americas cup is in the drink -just waiting for some breeze...... Ben Ainslie sailed his one yesterday in Bermuda
Clipper 375
Not much to say? I'd say their grinding method is worth a mention.

Farrari 4
Do I understand this right? A crew of 6; two to sail the boat and four to provide hydraulic power? http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11801021 Will this change the crew balance? With crews being reduced to just six, it was thought that four of those positions on each team would be taken up by grinders, whose sole job will be turning the handles. Island Time 1,294
Seems that way.... Moving even further away from common sailors, and I thought that wasn't possible! Doh!
Freedom GBE 27
I like it. Four skinny little cyclist will surely produce more power per weight than four burly old grinders. You should also be able to helm while you pedal the sheets.
MarkMT 68
I'm trying to imagine what the end-state is here. A single tactician driving the boat from a game-console while everyone else is heads-down pedalling to give him the juice? I guess it's just as well the rules require everyone sailing the boat to actually be on the boat.
waikiore 485
Now I know why the ETNZ guys are so much faster than my rum soaked sausage roll fuelled carcass on the morning Tamaki Drive ride
Deep Purple 530
I love this comment from the TVOne news page and video The boat reportedly features four grinding pedestals on each hull, designed to be less draining on grinders who have to provide hydraulic power to hoist the large wingsail. Well thats the Americas cup won then and there! No other team will be able compete with leg driven wingsail raising!!!!
Black Panther 1,767
Think of the money they'll save on crane hire.
Rangi1 51
The car company boat looks better. Which one is that? BMW no longer part of Oracle.
