Foam for cockpit cushions

What you need is called dry-pore foam, it doesn't hold water but is eye wateringly expensive.

another option is to use a PE foam like this...

Its cheaper and floats. This is what i used for all of my outdoor squabs and while firmer than the Dri-pore there has yet to be a complaint lodged about the comfort levels.
