johnmac 3
Bad news this morning, Colman dismasted last night, with only 700 miles to the finish. He's cut away his mast and sails but saved the boom. He'll have to wait a couple of days for the weather, then he's planning to jury rig and hopefully finish. Bummer for him after doing so well in an old boat. Hopefully he's done enough to get funding for a better one for next race.
raz88 96
Really sad to see that. Would be great if he can jury rig something that gets him home, but 700 miles suddenly seems a lot longer than it did yesterday....
Addem 94
Gutted to hear this. He's endured so much and is so close.

smithy09 50
I'm gutted for him. I hope he can get some tail winds for the last Jury rig sail to the finish.. He has tried so hard and overcome obstacle after obstacle, now this!
Romany 158
They say pressure makes diamonds but this is just plain cruel. Poor bugger. Having said that & I imagine he may be reciting - "that which does not kill makes me stronger"
erice 732
in 2 days he should get 2 good days of downwind sailing https://earth.nullschool.net/#2017/02/14/0000Z/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=-7.56,44.87,2492/loc=-12.492,41.

Mothership 6
Given what he's competing in, I don't think significant solo efforts are too much of an imposition to the guy!

ScottiE 174
Nice coverage really. Rehash of what's been published on the Vendée site. Here's the link to the story online. https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/sport/other/ive-come-all-way-kiwi-solo-sailor-refuses-give-up-after-nautical-nightmare
DrWatson 368
Slow going for Conrad. Still 250NM, He's running terribly low on food and electrons. And at 3-4 knts that still a bloody long way to sail. Breeze looks to die out completely over the next 12h, then build from the WSW for bit before turing back into a Northerly... The battle will be tougher yet. I hope he's still got it in him...
