harrytom 628
https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2511018630 Will be a hard sell at $20k I think
ex Elly 186
I saw that boat sailing in the Tall Ships regatta last month.
Tazzy Devil 18
would either need to be a very niche buyer or need a re rig so doubt $20k is a go. Normal ravens are sub 10k.
Black Panther 1,523
I like it. No need to rerig. That rig isnt that old. But yes the price is optimistic
Zozza 282
I was on Fantail at Christmas. No re rig needed, Boat is in great shape for its age. Set up below for long periods aboard. Make him an offer. Who gets asking price on boats these days.
Black Panther 1,523
Talk to the owner about a trade Z. Does Annie Hill still own it?
ex TL systems 63
No she is building a new small junk rig mono at norsand in Whangarei
waikiore 374
I was once a very good condition Raven called I think Joshua, a pity no one showed Annie how easily and well they sail in standard configuration! Reminds me of the Hiscocks on their last boat, no one showed them how slab reefing works so they reverted to what they knew old roller reefing and the consequent strange looking main shape. Black Panther 1,523
Pretty sure she sailed for a season or two before switching. I can see the advantages of junk though it would be fun to play with a balanced lug first.
Tazzy Devil 18
What exactly are the advantages of Junk rig in a small boat?
Black Panther 1,523
It is widely considered the easiest rig in the world for handling sails. Having said that I am seriously impressed by Chris White 's mastfoil rig. Saw one of his cats wearing it in BoI. Seriously clever.
GregW 28
To answer the question raised in the vid; Ravens sure did get raced. Very active owners association through the 70s and 80s. I sailed on a few of them.
Black Panther 1,523
I remember winning a feltex regatta on Sandman Too i think. About 1977 or thereabouts.
chariot 236
Probably about 33 years ago we used to get a dozen plus R26's for the Akarana winter series. A lot of us used to go down from BBYC and PYBC. Also used to have Nationals run by the home of Ravens, the PYBC.
Vivaldi 50
Looks like 2656 is heading for a world of pain and dirty air....

chippie 6
And we had a Piedy. Twenty boats or more and super competitive. Spent the first year coming second to last, consistently. And the Feltex, four days of racing over two weekends. Buddy magic time for yacht racing!

raz88 96
(slightly) more recently there used to be a good fleet of ravens racing with VCC in the early-mid 90s
