Sail Drive Hull Boot

Recommended Posts

Hi All, we will be replacing our sail drive diaphragms in a few weeks. The question i cant seam to find any great information on is what product to use in gluing the new fairing boot with.

I understand the preparation to the hull and the rubber boot itself, however would like to know what adhesive products other have used.

Cheers.

I used a 2 pot product from the guy who makes dry suits in Wellsford. Its stuck on like the proverbial with no lifting on the front lip 2 years later. Maybe give him a call?

5200 is otherwise known as "the devils glue" Its a bitch to remove, and will pull off a laminate before letting go quite often. I's use 4200 or similar for something I might want to take off.

On the saildrive fairing boot, you can remove the 5200 with a multitool and the scraper blade, as access is easy. You'd likely have to cut a hatch out....
