Guest
Hey tom. Nice job on your finish in the coastal. Was good racing between you guys, voltage and frenzy and truxton on the cruising boats( The ones you can sleep and take the mrs on) We were pretty glad to hang on and get a result. What happened to frenzy and nosaka? I couldn't even see them at bream tail they were so far in front. How the voltage carried the big gennaker the whole way through bream bay and so high I have no idea. It looked pretty wicked up. Hey do you still have my fuel can? I will prob pick up later in the week got a bit on till prob friday. Can call me 021656394 to make a plan. Thanks skins
El Toro 97
I spoke to the Noosaka guys and they were pretty gutted... it seems everyone that went inside got smoked. Was lucky for us as Frenzy and them had done an horizon job on us by Kawau. Once they went in, the wind died and there was no way out.. Yep can is on boat, can drop to you on Wed if you like..Thanks again for the juice, pretty ironic aye? Cheers Tomo

Guest
Hey tom I'll try and get down for a coldie before you go sailing wednesday. What time you leave the dock? Pretty classic ha. We almost came unstuck in the same place after kawau after we gave you the last can. Lucky I learnt my lesson and had a spare 5 ltr can for emergency.

Murky 1
yeah awesome race up the coast, outside was definatly the way to go. Interesting to hear how the race played out in different circumstances. We were probably a bit further up the track, in the second half of the 40 footers on Black Pearl, and made a point of not going above the rhumb line all the way up. We kept expecting that the boats inshore of us would eventually pay some sort of price but they hung in and at times were making gains.

El Toro 97
We were seeing 20-22 for most of that time bushman on a reasonably tight angle. Boat goes best with a reef over 17-18 knots..must be something to do with the weight of the fridge and lockers to stow the xmas cruising gear...
Guest
Fridge is on my wish list !!

col j 0
i think its to do with a fat arsed boat and a big main. future perfect is the same. bum gets picked up by a wave on any sort of reach and round ya go. stick a reef in and you stop applying a break every time you battle the tiller keeping the boat on line. Guest
Hello We were doing the same on Pig-hunter with the smal mast taking a reef downwind from 18knots and when arriving at a buoy to go upwind main full. it lokks funny but work. cause of the diving effect of the boat mostly. One thing we were doing too was to take only the boomend side o the reef. was letting the boom high above the water so not going staight in the wind when overpower and boom touch water. french pidjin english is an art language.
