YouTube Sailing Vlogs....or whatever you call them

Recommended Posts

Wife and I have been watching Sailing Vlogs/Blogs or Vids or?? not sure what you call them. In fact we haven't watched regular TV for ages now. It's mostly Youtube or Netflix. We especially enjoy the Oz folk, as they are more "real" to us than any of the American ones. We started off with La Vagabond, but they have become a little too...errr......"professional" now so the shine has gone off them. We have really enjoyed Free Range Sailing. A very unpretentious couple in a simple Boat that has started off from Perth and sailed up the west side to the top of Oz and down the East side. Stunning scenery I so want to go see and they are really knowledgable about the animals/fish/reafs and history as well as the guy being great with fixing stuff or how too's while out on the water. Anyway......
This morning I stumbled on a Kiwi Family and that got me wondering how many more are on Youtube. Kiwis seem to be really hard to find. Maybe we don't have that "entertainment" factor that the Americans do and so don't get the hits and thus youtube promotion of " suggested video's"
SO......Does any Crew Member either have a Vlog or know of any Kiwi Vlogs?

Assume you're talking about Cruising Kiwi's as the family?

There is Parlay Revival which is a kiwi guy who bought a cat after Hurricane Katrina had blown through, he's quite interesting, works and an inganeer on superyachts to make extra money but also rebuilt Parlay.

Erik Aanderaa is a solo sailor, and these videos have amazing scenery and are incredibly well filmed and edited. Now I want to go visit the Faroe Islands!

Yup this guy is standout and my favourite by far. In his own words "Saving you from more snorkeling and bikinis in the Caribbean".

I'm going to buy a NBJS t-shirt in fact!

Hello,

My wife, dog, and I have recently bought a boat here in NZ.  We are still relatively new to sailing but we are keeping a vlog for memories and family back home in the USA.  Check out our channel if you want to come along for the adventure!  We are not kiwis but we are permanent residents.

He's got some amazing footage in his latest trip to the Faroes.

Hi to you both. My wife and I have followed you from the beginning and wait eagerly for your updates each month or so. Having had to abandon our own sailing life, we feel for you having to also give up the dream.
I had often thought that if we were still out on the water, we might have met up. That would have been awesome. For us, one of the best parts of sailing was meeting new People and enjoying "sunset over the yardarm" with them.
All the best.
