Adrianp 138
Suspicious gap in the calendar for March. Maybe we can still get an event here with some last minute bargaining? Although the waterfront facilities are pretty much full for February and March with The Ocean Race and Boatshow.

waikiore 523
Frustrating to see Spain going so well on Saturday -then not even out there Sunday with no explanation till afterwards -hydraulic issues? So no fault of their own they are out, the league definitely needs spare boats if they are to continue with good meaningful races, great to see Phil Robertson using the rules . Phil Robertson is reckless. He'll kill someone if he carries on how he is. Remember when AUS ran over the finish mark in Lyttleton and smashed their front beam off? That was Phil Robertson bumping AUS up when he was driving for Canada. Their is a reason teams drop him and he can't hold a gig for longer than a season.

But the umpires penalized him 4 points, so was judged to be partly to blame.

I think they need to develop a tweaked set of rules for sail GP, we can all debate the intricacies of who was in the right or the wrong but its kind of academic when the course seems designed to create a high risk of carnage and your favoured team is taken out of the event or even several events by the yachting equivalent of a fender bender. Crash n Bash plays havoc with series continuity but perhaps the non sailing audience likes it. I found the AC 40 regatta in Caligari was better viewing.
Shagger 0
The start line was set at a much lower angle than a beam reach than normal. This made it even easy for Phil to utilize the rules. Having the first reach set higher than square would be a step in the right direction.
waikiore 523
Shagger is of course correct, it really is amazing how few Auckland racers understand the rules at the start line -even those that sail every week , you absolutely have no rights bearing down on boats below because you are a bit early ....
