And have hand-painted signs making wild and probably offensive claims about unrelated issues.

Personally I think this is a racist policy overtly targeted at settlers and Ti Tiriti is completely to blame.

Oh, and something about colonieism. And how I was disadvantaged as a child.

The govt should pay us to clean out boats.

My forefathers fought and died in The War to earn us all the right to spread invasive species into any environment we damn well choose.

Anything else is communism by stealth and a socialist agenda that will have us all limited to floating toy blocks in paddling pools you mark my words this chardonnay swilling group of horsefaced women (if you can call them that)  and lycra wearing seckually ambivilent blokes who've never done an honest days work in their lives just want to make sure the penguins are safe and the toheroas haven't escaped.

I'm exhausted mate.  Got any spare diesel?

So how do all you Left Wing voters feel about your Labour Govt now. What about the ships that bring all this stuff in ? And only 9 months gone of their 3 year reign of terror. I hear they're having 5 million meters being built to attach to everyone (no exceptions) so they can tax the air we breathe. They're doing water so air is all that's left

"Cleaning technologies should capture debris greater than 50 micrometres in diameter"

I always thought this must be a typo, 50 micrometres is barely visible (0.05mm).

This looks to be applying to sanding or grinding methods if you are local.  Don't let your antifouling dust blow away in other words

No, its all about cleaning boats in water.

Wait till you start getting barnacle growth in Auckland like you get in the Bay, your whole hull can be covered every two weeks for about 6 - 8 weeks over summer. You think every boat in Auckland is going to get hauled every 2 weeks to stay compliant?

cover the hull in gladwrap and tear off a layer every week - like tear-offs on motorcycle racing visors

I am struggling to see how these rules have changed?

These "new" rules don't seem to make it any harder to clean in the water than it was in the 2020 rules.

How has the definition of "light-fouling" been changed/updated?  Anyone got last years version?

Whats hard about the Auckland rules is that you must keep your boat clean at all times.

Up north you only need it clean if you move between "areas".

Councils were supposed to be working together to align their rules, so much for that.

I assume this applies to marina pontoons/fingers?

Yes, states a 'craft' is anything including planes and pontoons. It is an offence to have any pests on the pontoon (fan worm), also to have fouling greater than 'light', or to allow 'passive discharge' of biofouling. Potentially a major issue for club pontoons. Then I see, right at the end, that these rules don't apply to commercial operators.....

So is that the change to the rules then?  Did we used to allow boats with more than light-fouling in Auckland?

Makes kind of pointless both those floating docks that some flash race boats are using and also those drive-in bags that wrap your hull.

I am guessing the marina infrastructure will be covered under commercial/military vessel law rules and not these recreational rules.  Kind of a double standard.

Are they serious? I have to comply but the finger I tie up to doesn't as it is 'commercial' ?

FFS

seems redic, but the finger is not going to be moving around the gulf dropping its biohazards as it goes.  Thats the problem they are attempting to control.
