Experienced bluewater skipper required to accompany new owner for delivery of 44' catamaran from Tahiti to New Zealand September/October 2021

Non paying role but free board and lodgings for duration of time aboard including shakedown cruise around the islands prior to passage.

Skipper (and partner if applicable) needs to be NZ Citizens or permanent residents with the right to live in NZ.

Actual passage will be direct and take min 14 days so as to comply with Covid 19 entry exemptions into NZ and so avoid MIQ upon arrival.

If not already in Tahiti/french Polynesia then skipper must be eligible to enter from a 'Green Zone' country (and be 'double jabbed' (with proof there of) and Covid 19 tested negative within 72hrs of flight into Tahiti)

We will sail around Tahiti for shakedown trials then when good weather is forecast set off.

Lots of room (4 double cabins) so if you are an experienced sailor/s and need to get back to NZ ....welcome aboard!

Hi Dougal. Your experience would be highly valued and you and your son are most welcome to join us. Big factors to think through would be:

1, Entry restrictions to Tahiti. Flights only Via LAX or Paris. Get an ESTA (US) and ESTI (Tahiti) granted.

2,The Delta variant is rampant in Tahiti at the moment. My concern would be your son not being vaccinated, (some crew members stipulate all onboard being vaccinated!)

3,Covid 19 entry rules into NZ. Are you both NZ citizens or have been granted entry exemption?

I'll speak with the other crew member and the crews on the other 2 boats that we will be sailing in flotilla with (as we will be socialising with them before hand)

Stay in touch, I'd love to be able to make it work for you both and get you back to NZ.

Cheers Mark

Hi Mark, I may be able to assist you with your delivery. I am a NZ professional yacht delivery skipper. I am currently in Durban and will be heading to Cape Town in about a week, delivering a 50 foot cat from NZ. I would have to fly to France or the States, spend a couple of weeks there before flying to Tahiti. I am fully vaccinated 2 x pfizer. I may be able to get there by mid to late Oct. If the timing works for you, let me know. What type of cat do you have, what year build? reply here or contact me direct cptnmike2005@yahoo.co.nz.

Cheers Mike

Hello Mark,

I'm not sure if your requirement is still open, but in the event that it is I may be able to assist.  I am an experienced offshore racing skipper and have my own blue water cat as well (currently in the Philippines, but due to make its way home starting in March or so next year).  In the meantime I am looking for a ride back to NZ for Christmas.  I am a New Zealander, fully jabbed (Moderna), have an ESTA and able to travel at short notice.

Cheers

Pete
