MartinRF 53
I know you are busy sailing but in case there is no wind... What is this: (There are no points for "Sunday afternoon in Scandinavia in late November" or "a black trimaran"...) /Martin
Clipper 343
A 60' Trimaran designed by Irens/Cabaret. Fully carbon, designed for sports cruising,

MartinRF 53
Hints: Neither French nor Irens. Built in the 1980s and I don't think cruising was on anyones mind. Yes, that is snow. -7 C, wind out of NE. /Martin
Bogan 8
Looks to be in the same general size and age as Adrenalin. so I'd say a Formula 40, modified since.

SloopJohnB 323
TietoEnator from Gotenburg.
Guest
SJB - TietoEnator has a square stern on the main hull so I don't think so unless it has work done and more than a little Botox. Also TietoEnator has swept fore and aft beams where these look pretty square to the main hull.
SloopJohnB 323
Yes I know its the only photo of a tri in that part of the world I have. There are a couple more that sailed in the Nokia Oops Cup 2006.

MartinRF 53
So, time to tell you what the mystery trimaran is. She was built for the 1988 single-handed transatlantic race as "Spirit of Apricot" for Tony Bullimore. She was designed by Martyn Smith and Barry Noble. The photos were shot in the harbor of Waxholm just east of Stockholm. /Martin

If you are going to have these sorts of competitions then it has to be a question that can be answered. It's just not possible to recognise a Bullimore boat when the photo is showing it up the wrong way.
Atom Ant 0
He He BK I was thinking the same thing. If it had been upside down I'd straight away have known it was for Bullimore!
