aardvarkash10 958
Is there a clever thing that can automatically cut the output of our VHF into the stereo amp when a signal is detected? The VHF is in the cabin and if you are in the cockpit, you cannot hear it. Stereo speakers are outside in the cockpit, so it would be great to be able to have the receive system magically switch to the stereo amp and speakers when the VHF picks up a transmission. mcp 32
You could make a signal sensing relay? But I would be inclined to leave them as separate systems and add speakers.
ex Elly 197
You can get a remote speaker that plugs into the VHF, and mount it in the cockpit or throw it under the dodger. https://www.smartmarine.co.nz/product/14283/spk45-water-resistant-extension-speaker-white/17406?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuf21x6O49QIVsyCtBh2Ehg2qEAQYASABEgL-7vD_BwE
wheels 543
Sounds like a great idea and there are ways of doing it. But the amount of traffic on the VHF would cut the Stereo out more than it was on. It would drive me nuts. However, check out https://audiointerrupt.com/vhf-u4/
