3-week haul-out in May in no specific order.

  • antifoul
  • repaint topsides
  • repair longitudinal crack line in the inner cabin roof
  • new name ceremony!!
  • stern gland
  • standing and running rig inspection inc replace bulbs/LEDs in the mast lights and possible spinnaker halyard replacement
  • replace the worn out leach reefing jammer on the boom with a better jammer or with a clutch
  • clean bilges (after stern gland replacement)
  • complete fitting the autopilot
  • oil change and filters
  • replace the stripper on the anchor winch and service the winch
  • service the sheet winches.

Non-haul-out items in no specific order

  • assess storage to optimise space for food, clothing, equipment etc based on frequency of access, speed of access, condition of the storage space (damp/dry; hot/cold; etc) and the other usual storage criteria
  • assemble grab bag items and put them in the grab bag specifically purchased a year ago (no procrastination to see here folks, move along...)
  • test run the diesel heater to ensure its ok for the winter season.
  • collect parts and inspiration for the construction of the kero/diesel pressure stove to replace LPG stove.  Break out the silver brazing rods, repurpose some stainless steel as the main chassis and a fire extinguisher body as the fuel reservoir/pressure tank, play with it a bit to get it burning hot, clean and controllable in approximately that order.
  • work out what is required to get to Cat 4 so we can do some club racing if we choose to
  • revise headsail lead setup - its blown two sheet blocks so far so low friction rings might make life cleaner, consider in-haul b/c the current clew position is well outboard and it would be nice to point a bit higher (according to the Grumbling Classes resident on the tiller)
  • Design and construct a table that can be stored easily in the cabin but set up in the cockpit for those pleasant balmy summer afternoon conviviality sessions

My list

Replace bow thruster switch

Buy some mainsail slides for spares

Replace main topping lift and reefing lines

Attempt to make my autopilot talk to a kindly donated gyro

Finish installing deckwash system

New cockpit cushions

New main cabin upholstery

Attack engine oil leaks (again)

Buy some oil

Touch up Grey paint at transom

No 11 which I finished this morning was adjust the pitch on the new kiwiprop. The job took less time than putting on the wetsuit.  Impressed.
