Kevin McCready 83
But our biota doesn't "inject" GRP. They probably just invest in ingesting and then so do we. Seriously though, what does it cost to dispose of a 30 footer in Auckland.

Psyche 795
Quote ‘Many people didn’t have the opportunity to visit their boats and now they have degraded and require a lot of expenditure to get back to a serviceable condition. For boats at the lower end, the option for some is to abandon them. Also the boat buying boom during COVID meant some people bought boats unaware of the attention they require and costs to keep them serviceable and in good condition. Now, with the cost of living squeeze some people are just walking away from their responsibilities.’ Yep, waiting for the other shoe to drop here
Psyche 795
On that note, a fairly frequent topic of conversation is what's going to happen when the leases expire in Westhaven, there are lots of boats that would be worth 2-3 years of fees at most. If people got out during the covid boom good luck to them because that window has pretty much slammed shut, Ive heard a few stories of lovestruck new owners getting the struck feeling without the love when confronted with the reality ($$ and time) that a boat owns you more than you own it
Zozza 351
What was that Covid boat buying boom all about you think? Previous non sailing people locked down watching the Bikini Sailing Youboob channels?

Maybe they should mention how every major cruising destination has a collection of lonely old men on boats. 3
