CarpeDiem 570
Call out to the SSANZ committee members tonight who attended the Redress Hearing. And those who no doubt contributed behind the scenes. For past redress hearings I have had to represented myself. SSANZ committee, summarized all redresses into one protest, submitted it and represented all vessels requesting redress with their supplied evidence. Wow! Saved time, for the also volunteer protest committee as they did not need to run four protests back to back!

Remember we as a SSANZ committee are just enthusiastic sailors trying to juggle life, work, kids and putting on amazing events for you in what little spare time we have. Sorry, didn't mean to imply that the committee do nothing. We all know that SSANZ does a good job, and runs great events. Just wanted to praise the committee for adjusting the division splits after the entries have come in. This hasn't happened in recent years.

Clipper 382
Spent last night getting ready. Cleaned bottom, jacklines on, coffee grinder charged up, bilges bailed, flash new halyard run.
ex Elly 276
Weirdly they have shortened the course for Wealthpoint 1, meaning that Young88s are allowed to go to Gannet Rock, but not Stewart 34s or Farr 1020s!
waikiore 518
Looked like a good sized fleet heading out..
ex Elly 276
Looks like the shortened course has caused some confusion among the Young88s who are doing the Wealthpoint course. Flash Gordon lost a lot of ground at Durville Rock.

It’s not about the S34s and 1020’s (who probably should be doing the next course length up) but more about the Piedy’s, 727 and boats at the smaller end. With overall handicap prizes for each course SSANZ needs to ensure courses changes are the same for all boats competing on each course…. 88s are a bit different as they as a class have decided to switch between course options for each race which means they are only racing themselves
