How about a celebratory bottle of Loctite? Is that the sort of thing you put on those types of bolts? Bet you are happy with that outcome though.

Bet you are happy with that outcome though. I'll get them to use loctite for the reassembly but also see if I can get a copy of the shop manual and see if it specifies lock washers. Annoyed that it happened but yes the outcome is a huge relief, we will probably get it back in action for March/April ....yay ! Haven't missed much with the recent weather anyhoo. 1

Frank 217
Here are photos of the damage, I think the feedback was a bit ambiguous, it looks like the adapter plate bolts came loose not the flywheel attach bolts which seem fine. I need HEAD GASKET · F/TIMING COVER GASKET · ROCKER GASKET · FRONT & REAR SEAL · REPLACEMENT ADAPTER PLATE BOLTS · WATER PUMP GASKET · SUMP GASKET Might need to buy a full seal kit if possible, the ones online involve a full overhaul kit including pistons and rings ! @ $750 (parts 4 engines) need to do a bit of phoning around on Mon me thinks. You can apply for one via the customs website but usually the agent can apply on your behalf - takes about a day for customs to issue you with a number if the agent applies and 5 days if you apply directly. Ups's nz agent will invoice you for the gst. You pay it and they ship it. They charge to store the item in their warehouse so do not delay.
