MartinRF 79
What about watertight compartments? /Martin
Bad Kitty 344
Sounds like they were pretty onto it in terms of actions taken. MartinRF, yes watertight compartments are great in principle, but complex, hard to live with in small boats, and expensive in the build? A great idea though, for sure. Black Panther 1,818
Does it say whar size/manufacture the boat was?
aardvarkash10 1,170
Its a largish (53 foot) charter cruising cat according to the website all links take you to. Primarily Bahama's based, when it was afloat. Oddly, the website refers to it in the present tense. https://svmagicbus.com/bus_details/

Black Panther 1,818
Four, please. Yes, score one for the multis. ( I have never understood the multi vs mono arguments. I've sailed both, I liked both.)
Psyche 904
Outrun the weather vs handle a beating..
Island Time 1,347
Or maybe with a major leak in an engine room, keeping going with sterns to weather may not have been the best possible plan. How about heave to, and try to contain it. The water level in that engine room was above sea level, it was being forced in by pressure of water flow under way??
