Psyche 923
Quote All vessels in Auckland must comply with regional biosecurity standards. The level of fouling on your hull and in niche areas (such as inlets, outlets, rudders, and propellers) must not exceed ‘light fouling’ – a thin slime layer with only small, scattered barnacles covering no more than 5% of the hull. Dear bureaucrats, all I can say is we share the same dreams of anti fouling that works, and affordable easily accessible cleaning facilities. 2
John B 119
Meanwhile , Altex's new product is held up for a year.. years by mpi or whichever department is supposed to be vetting it.
Psyche 923
We are not a big country, one would think that if the objective is to implement bio security standards the govt could coordinate a response that reflected reality. But when objectives are ideologically driven by people who wouldn't know a plastic kayak from an tugboat, they go for the easy target; Mr Boat Owner Its all your fault!
Priscilla II 480
"If any pest species are detected, affected vessels must not be moved to a new location, as this could risk spreading invasive organisms." I was wondering after all these years why she never went anywhere.😀

twisty 176
Presumably the marina will apply the rules to themselves and clean the marina pontoons 🤔
Steve Pope 255
Now try to find an antifoul paint that works on an alluminium yacht hull, ( too slow for the "new" slippery types) that doesn't have the barnacles / oysters and whatever rubbing their shells together and saying, "yes please"!!,
motorb 57
So we can't move to a handstand, but we must get it cleaned, and must do it on dry land in a facility like a handstand. And those pontoons are absolutely fine farming fan worm because they don't move, but that boat that's heavily fouled precisely because it hasn't moved in years isn't fine, and needs to be moved.....
