ex Elly 279
First race tomorrow. Early start this year. Usually starts in July? New courses look interesting, include some buoys to locate instead of islands or rocks.
B00B00 361
What a beautiful days yachting. Was a bit painfull near gannet rock and back up tamaki strait for us but we came away with the win in Motorboat III. Our son Lukes first race in the mix t motions and he did ok. Hes only just turned 16 and had another young mate of his on board so I was happy they even got around the track and home up the river afterwards... And my wife Sara was on the General Lee so our family was well represented out there yesterday.. 6
ex Elly 279
They had it too good last time. Now they have the proper SSANZ weather! 😉 A cold blast, squalls, and gale warning. Looks like a lot of boats missing today.
Steve 62
Bit of drama out there, I see T Rex beating home under storm jib after clearly having a few issues in the Tamaki Strait. CG was standing by but I think they've got it under control now.
Steve 62
A few others didn't quite make it.. Lots of others didn't start.
B00B00 361
Yup it was pretty fresh out there. With Damon overseas and the extreme forecast I decided against taking the Motorboat III out without him. Instead I jumped on our kids little boat the edlin 8 Mix T Motions for the race with my 16year old son. Was a pretty full on day but lots of fun and we took the win.
Psyche 959
Well done to all the competitors, pretty tough course for the small boats.

I feel cold just watching it. Definitely some interesting sail plans going on there. And as you say clockwork might have been looking for a bit less right about then!
