Sat out Saturday given the forecast, and left Clevedon for Bryant Bay midday Sunday.  A crash gybe at the southern end of Ponui pulled the starboard traveller control block clean out of the deck, but apart from that a fun sail, and a pleasant night parked under the cliffs at Bryant Bay.

Monday we jerry-rigged the traveller control block and exited north into the stiffening norwester.  Two reefs in the main and 60% of the headsail out we still saw 7.5 knots towing our 12 foot Ali dinghy.

Came home down the Waiheke channel then bashed through a 1m chop across to the Wairoa.  Again, no speed problems and the occasional "windows under" as the mainsheet trimmer missed his timing. Mea culpa.

Rebuilt the fire box on the wood burner.

Getting it apart was like one of those Chinese puzzle box’s .

The one thing I have learned in retirement is a nice snooze paves the way from confusion to success.

Looks amazing. Looks a lot like the Stornoway 12 by Paul Fisher. Dad and I built one a few years ago the Stornoway also has multiple chines. We did a stitch and glue, your shiplap finish looks fabulous.

Thanks for that.

Francois Vivier designed Morbic 12.

I have gone with Carbothane 133LH as a topcoat over Interprotect epoxy primer and the satin finish is a welcome relief from high gloss.

Other positives with Carbothane is the recoating time is indefinite and it’s bloody damned hard as😀

Fabulous work, too Nice to put in the water.

Actually I am thinking it will be a shame to finish her maybe I could do like Lex did with the Haparanda and cut the Morby down the middle and in half grow her a bit now that would keep me occupied .😀
