Guest
Hi David, Hope that your Easter is going well. I am down in Whitiangia with the Family and doing some work for the NZ International Optimist Dinghy Assoc. The guys have had a tough time with very light breezes making racing very difficult. The Kiwis are leading the Green and Open fleet but the competition is strong with overseas competitors taking 8 of the top 10 slots in the open fleet. Jayvee Buchanan is leading with a great sailing performance of 5 bullits in 7 races. There is a very strong team from Singapore in 2,3,& 4th. In the green fleet Scott McKenzie from Kohimarama is leading the fleet. A few Pics attached for your viewers Cheers Will
smithy09 50
This was a very difficult regatta with nothing much over 10 knots, and then for only a few minutes. Big shifts, "personal" breezes and big holes. But the top guys and girls came through with remarkable consistancy and the Singaporians loved it. Won by Kimberly Lim from Singapore with Singaporians 1st 3rd, 4th and 6th. Just like home I guess, but they were pretty to watch with perfect roll tack after perfect roll tack. They were expecting half a dozen and got a bit of a fright when around 40 of them turned up!! Still they all fitted in and made life a lot easier so thanks a lot!
