grant 40
Begs the question, Do these things just end up owned by some other dreamer and living on a different mooring deteriorating more? yep, and then they sail off around the north island, leave marinas in the middle of the night owing money, drift around off kaikoura (with people trying to find them) on the way to wellington, drift through the shipping lanes with very dodgy nav lights and no power in the middle of the night, get towed in and become a nuisance somewhere else..... Guest
Ferro boat is uninsurable if anyone contemplated doing it up. My hands not going up! Methinks it should be made into dive spot somewhere or made part of an artificial reef off takapuna! ha!
Atom Ant 0
We were thinking along similar lines FP, but I doubt that ferro beast would even be interesting to a diver given that it barely rates as a boat - even in its heyday if it ever had one. I was thinking more like something in a kids playground because at least they'd believe that it is a boat.
ScottiE 174
'bout all its good for is crushed aggregate in a black top mix for a temporary road - the salt inclusion would mean you wouldn't put it anywhere near a permanent surface (not that bt surfaces are permanent in this country anymore)
Murky 1
Compost bin? An interesting chook house? Liner for a duck pond?
Atom Ant 0
The sad thing is that that concrete beast had a designer and a builder. But lets face it, when all that work was done you couldn't have stood back and admired its beauty could you? It was ugly when it was new.
johnMi 2
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One mans rubbish is another man's treasure. Don't be too critical, someone somewhere had a dream, and who knows whether he fulfilled it or not, at least he gave it a go and built it.
