Preparing the house boat for leg 2. Our predictions and Bob Mc D say light for two days the beating for 4 days in 35 to 40 knots!!!!! Have just put the trysail onto its separate track on the mast. Tom reckons he is retiring from the foredeck after this race. Stewart Island HERE WE COME!!!!

Its supposed to continue building to a possible 12 knot breeze and that could take untill 8pm. the boats arnt going that badly at 4-5 knots and they will be enjoying being they get the crap kicked out of them.

We're on our way back from Doubtless Bay after starting the fleet. All good fun, great hospitality as usual in Mangonui and a well organised cruising club. Thrilled for the lads on Truxton who get to keep the leg trophy until we decide to do it all again. Everything crossed for a safe trip to Stewart Island.

Metvuw suggests 48 hours of trouble later in the week (Thursday Friday) with strong SW. Otherwise a real mixed bag with light wind from all directions.

Should be very interesting to watch on the tracker.

Best luck to everyone out there.
