Guest
i see from the tracker ....that krakatoa is racing..... well ....the fleet is making avg of .2 knots vmg.... so if yo call that racing....when is the breeze to fill in ? Its supposed to continue building to a possible 12 knot breeze and that could take untill 8pm. the boats arnt going that badly at 4-5 knots and they will be enjoying being they get the crap kicked out of them. Guest
Yes Rhys is still sailing, he's a tough one. He apparently didn't break any bones just tore tendons and cracked cartilage in foot.

Guest
We're on our way back from Doubtless Bay after starting the fleet. All good fun, great hospitality as usual in Mangonui and a well organised cruising club. Thrilled for the lads on Truxton who get to keep the leg trophy until we decide to do it all again. Everything crossed for a safe trip to Stewart Island.
Flatkat 1
Thanks Mangonui for your hospitality A bit of a leisurely start compared to Auckland, some pics here: https://picasaweb.google.com/1079355276 ... directlink
Bogan 8
Metvuw suggests 48 hours of trouble later in the week (Thursday Friday) with strong SW. Otherwise a real mixed bag with light wind from all directions. Should be very interesting to watch on the tracker. Best luck to everyone out there.
Flatkat 1
DOH, Truxton are in a giant hole with no wind, parked up for the last 3 hours. Looks like Coppelia are in the same one Could be a long day for them.......
