Guest
I think they make up a part of my cover - I insure with AON (brokers) and they break up the risk and I seem to receive their (Clippers) magazine every month or two since the last renewal. Cant say much more than that - never claimed in 13 years of yacht ownership... but I also don't go out single handed in 25kts+ with extras or spend my spare time with inane/embittered windups in the multi forum either.... Guest
Shame that this incident occurred at all, the loss of the boat and the injury to Jill, is a real bummer. Shame also to see the Herald stooping to it usual 'balanced' reporting. As usual the public are left to guess at the what is really going on? Meanwhile the Herald happily bags CSCBrown, Insurance companies, ACC, Lawyers and the Harbour Master. Collision Regs As various posters have commented here, it is may not be a simple case of apportioning blame on one party alone. How this would affect any financial or insurance settlement I still am none the wiser from the Herald article. Gypsy's Insurance So can I take it that Gypsy was not insured for $350,000? If at all? What did the Herald say? as usual no info... Jill's ACC cover So we now know that ACC doesn't cover moving house from remote Hauraki Gulf islands. Thank you the NZ Herald John Pryor's house keys, wallet and its contents So we can we now assume that John and Jill's contents insurance didn't extend to cover these items either? John Mi Thank God they have some chance of financial settlement from CSCBrown's insurer... if they had been T'Boned by John Mi they'd be singing for their money or at best be getting $50 per month> How come the NZ Herald has'nt interviewed John Mi for his perspective? Thank you to the NZ herald for this morning entertainment
Guest
You read the Herald for balanced reporting? I generally only read it when I want to hear what Socialist bludging money haters have to say..........
RushMan 31
Is the 350k consisting of 35K for repairs and 315K for pain, suffering, medical expenses?
Changed 10
If you're insured I am sure the insured value is what is paid. If you're not, and once I was not, you get market value, which you do as a third party claimant. I claimed against the yacht club who owned the tractor that ran over my FD a few years ago. No troubles. All sorted in about a month. The basis of the settlement was the cost of full repairs. I took the cask and undertook to do the repairs which suited them as it means there is a final cost rather than running into further costs as repairs proceed. All in all I was happy and pleased that the club were insured.
