nz moth 0
Hi, what do you think of a Davidson 37? are the fast/slow? Would they race offshore well? Thanks
Jon 413
There are a few different Davidson 37's They are all reasonable quick and practically any boat is offshore capable but that depends on your requirements. Which one are you looking at.
Guest
My favourite ever boat. Twice round the north is. Lots of other stuff. Lovely downhill. Stratocaster has a couple of mods and goes really well uphill as well.

Quarterback 1
Are you talking about the rating type Dav37 There is a Yellow one at PYBC (yippyio) or the larger Dav 28 shape Boats like (Port& Stb) there were several built then the molds ended up in Aus as Cav 37 one was sailed around the world by ( K Cottee )
markm 32
Southern Fun I think, much modified and the quickest of them, though not actually sure she started life as a D37. Definitely a quick boat for her time and still able to beat most things of her size she's likely to come up against.
Rental 1
Southern Fun was built and is owned by Ian Frankilin http://www.franklinboatyards.co.nz/ Ian has a long history of building Daidson boats and does an excellent job - IMHO I guess she is an older design but still goes pretty quick. The boat has been on the market for ages so I would just give him a call.
Guest
She's a pretty quick boat alright, good upwind. I think it started at a 35. Has a scoop on the back. Some of the gear is a bit old school, but still works well. Been out on her in cook straight in 50 knots, she did fine. Off shore? Southern fun has pipe bunks and is tidy and simple down below, so good for racing. I'd be happy to go to fiji on her.
