From our club email newsletter... It's our BIG weekend coming up and it's looking good for a corker of a weekend weatherwise. Here's what's happening … Saturday : Summer Series #6 07:30 Rig for 9am race start, SW 10 knots forecast OOD : Jeff PRO : Brendan RIB duty : Maurice, Meg, Murray Galley : The Gauld family There is opportunity to leave boats at the club overnight Sunday : French Bay Regatta & Manukau Shield 07:30 Rig for 9am race start, 3 races, SW 10 knots forecast For those who've not been to a FBYC Regatta before : Club members are needed on site early to set up and make space for visitors (see parking map attached) We are racing Opti, Starling, Laser, Jolly and Open fleets for line honours Additionally we are running the Manukau Shield which is scored on handicap but rewards clubs who put lots of boats on the water ... so if you know how to race, bring your boat and help support FBYC win back this team prize! It is possible that we will run and Opti Green fleet inshore if we get 5 or more boats Bring a camera, it will be a spectacle Some additional house rules : Please please drop boats off quickly and park in Otitori Bay Road or behind the beach Optis please carry a bailer and tow line Take care not to bash visitors boats with trailers as the boat park will be crowded If space gets really tight, we plan to launch sailors from the Skiff area on the beach as we're not sure if the Skiffs are coming Please be courteous to members of the public who will be wanting to launch their fishing boats Its everyone's job to keep the ramp clear Next, a big thanks to all who've put their names forward to help out.
