Dawn was told at a committe meeting she recently attended, that boats in Waikawa were being broken into. It seems Raymarine equipment is the target and they think it maybe being stolen to order. Anyone heard anything on that??

No. but where can you order stuff like that? :wtf: . I'm not being funny here, butg where do people go to order stolen Raymarine stuff?... Trademe?... local stolen good shop?

It always astounds me that there is a "so called" place where you can place an order for cheap (stolen) goods!

Yeah not sure how that would work with second hand stuff. New is easy. Some Bloke down at the local gets talking to someone about how he can get an awesome deal from a mate that works at the factory. So the other guy says yeah I would love an Iphone for $50. That crook and his other crook mates spend a week doing the "sales work". At the end of the week a wharehouse is broken into and the items are picked off the shelves. They take just what the have a sale for. That way they don't get stuck with stuff in hand they can get done for.

When spellbound got done over they took the gear, Garmin, Navman, Nasa Marine, but left the cables.

gonna get a bit of a shock when they find out what the cables are going to cost! :o .

Yeah cablkes and transducers often get left behind, either due to thief having no idea, which is obvious because they are a thief, or it's too hard to remove, which it usually is. So if you come across head units for sale, especially on trademe, with no cables and transducers, it is often a sure sign they fell off the back of the boat.

Didn't someone write here that in Westhaven some toerag was nicely removing all the wiring as well without damaging the boat too much.

We had a car broken into at the weekend.

$30 cash in purse.

Over $1000 in associated damage and missing items such as reading glasses, drivers license, purse, handbag, window (still waiting for glass, so car out of use).

Muppets actually tried the eftpos card in a machine. They are really going to get the pin in 3 go's!

with eftpos cards you will be surprised how many dullards have the pin number 1234 or something similar. Or they have it written in the wallet. Some bright sparks even engrace it on the card.

Also the yacht "Sioux" believed to have been stolen on or about 6/7th from Waikawa marina.

A 38ft sloop Cheiftain class yacht that has a pale blue hull with white upper works. She is fitted with blue sail covers and cockpit dodgers. A notable feature about the vessel is that her radar scanner is fitted quite high up the mast above the spreaders.
