Pelagic Mountie 4
Gidday I'm interested in getting a Davidson 28 as my first keeler. I've been browsing what's on offer on trade me at the moment and wondering if there are any others out there for sale? Anyone know anything about the one that was advertised for 23k a couple of months ago? (I think an elderly gentleman in Auckland was selling it), that's roughly my budget so wanted to compare. John B 106
It wasn't that long ago they were all averaged at high 30 or 40 k boats. I'd certainly look at the bucks beach one if it was me ( if you like the colour ) because I believe it was a loved boat owned for a long period by its last owner. He's gone now I'm told. Looks cheap, might be well sorted.
Young Entertainer 59
the one in bucks is a very good boat, used on a weekly basis with very good results until its owner sadly passed away recently, doubt that you will find much wrong with it as it was well maintained, probably been sitting for about 4 months with most of that being out of the water. Marshy 30
Hard to look past the mighty Lantau - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-m ... 243858.htm Needs a little bit of a tidy up, sadly the owner passed away about 5 months ago and the boys at the club hauled the boat out on the hard, A bit of elbow grease and it will tidy up nicely. and is a pretty nice boat for the money. John B 106
There you go , three seperate recommendations to look at the same boat.
Pelagic Mountie 4
Thanks guys. I'm in Tauranga and looking to come up and check it out. Any idea what sort of cruising speed I could expect from the Bukh 10?
John B 106
definitely you should get 4. But seriously... when we cruised alongside Ronaki for a decade or so, she'd motor at about ooo 5 to 5.5. IIRC 6 was a struggle. Conditions permitting.
boots 1
Lantau is a good boat, I have seen her around for the last 10-12 years. She is a well used boat and used well, a credit to Norm who is no longer with us. He was in his 70's and Lantau looked after him.
