  1. How many of you have signed the petition? If we ant any fish left at all, the quota system needs to be dumped and replaced. Oversight must be removed from the fishing companies. Cameras on fishing boats should be compulsory. Winston and his cronies can %^$ off! 2. Its is based on the Faroe islands fishing policy. https://www.faroeseseafood.com/fishery-aquaculture/fishery-legislation-and-management What it means roughly.Govt buys back quota, then anyone can lease it and sell to ever you like, off the wharf restaurants direct etc not forced to sell to the big players. Not held to fish for one species. Not answerable to any overseas investor(price has dropped dont want it)what is the contractor to do??land it and get what they can or dump it??Chance to get small fishing back on track.You/me can lease it sublect to msa/moss survey. 6. Okay, I now know a whole bunch more about the Faroes than I ever thought I would (Faroe ponies, very cool...) How on earth did you divine that their policy was the genesis of Legasea? Irrespective, thanks for sending me down the Google hole, very informative! I is a signatory.

  7. We left a week late after the inevitable waiting for parts and then some drilling and epoxy work installing new pad eyes to tweak the new/larger screecher from. Then a bit of dyneema re-rigging and we were off on last Thursday. Thanks for all the great replies, We are now up in Whangaroa, spent a few days at Lane Cove and moved over near the water buoy on the east side for the little bit of wind we just had. Some great hikes and some dingy sailing and fishing, … re-wrapped my old dad’s 1940’s cane rod and been out spin fishing a bit, lots of fun…. Thanks to all!

  8. Hard to go past a yammy 15 2 stroke. The small 4 strokes are just too heavy for what they do. But yes the Tohatsu 18 is a great little outboard also, same weight as a 15 but 20% more power!

  12. Blaydon Racer is a Young trimaran withe twin masts called a Sketch and was built using West System in Tauranga by the late Dooley Wilson for his son Nick Wilson who still lives in Tauranga on Devonport Road. It was raced mainly in offshore races in the BOP area. Search Dooley Wilson Blaydon Racer and there is quite a bit of interesting information available.
