  2. It weights allot for something like this. The prod itself is an aluminum tube and (it could have been built in Carbon )and the stainless strut is extremely thick walled. I could estimate the weight of the prod at 12-15 kg and the strut at an additional 5-6 kg. The design is straight from the plans built exactly to Ian Farriers drawings for the prod and is original to the boats year 2001 build.

  4. I guess you mean keel bolts? it is the condition of the ones currently installed that would be of concern as you cant see the shank without withdrawing one (or two) Check with the seller of any yacht you are interested in if they have checked / re-newed the keel bolts and when, if they have been done. It isn't a major to pull them , or it shouldn't be. re-sealing the surounding area with whatever is the recommended bog is important as well as using suitable strength bolts if you decide to replace them. Boats are holes in the water through which you pour money, but there are many worse ways to

Obviously any hardball surveyor that is too nitpicky or regularly blows a sale will find it harder, but actually they are doing their jobs and signing their name on the documents, its that important. Most surveys the owner pays for the lift and hold, most yards require the vessel be pressure washed , which let's be realistic allows the surveyor to do his job, the potential purchaser pays for the survey. Any ow
