  1. Still probably better than the boat show, went yesterday and what a waste of time. Staff who knew nothing and pricing was done by looking at the website! Two of the stands told me I had to go to the store to get pricing. Could have saved myself 20 bucks
  2. Anyone got one they want to sell cheap? for a wooden boat after i managed to snap the current one towing a bit quickly.
  3. And back again today and picked up a full set of four slam jackets full retail $2,200 for $391, honk the pricing is getting better especially on the clothing
  4. went there yesterday, seaboots where cheap at $50 and i needed them, binoculars which i also needed were a massive $10 off retail and still $90 dearer then other suppliers off the shelf
  5. good call, it was always a bit of a bug bear. Happy to have all the other Cat3 parts on board and always considered the safety inspections a good way to make sure the boat was up to scratch for the summer cruising season.
  6. Pretty sure it is 11. I have one with a 700 prod and easily fits in a 12m berth. I have the actual drawings on the boat I can check tomorrow if you need exact measurements
  7. thanks Sian was the onyl one i could find, and he is book for the two days that i need. So far finding lots of yachts but no launches
  8. anyone know of any companies? been googling it but not really finding many options, want around 40ft for 2 days in April for a significant birthday which the financial controller intends to spend on the water at Man o War
  9. If you hit something in the middle of the channel in something that draws 1m it wasn't the bottom. I am 1.75 and will only touch the bottom on a .4 dead low. I can get out all tide on a .5 if I am careful about being in the middle. It is very easy to drift out of the channel you need to use the triangles not the poles to stay in the middle. Drift out of the channel and you will bump the bottom in anything. Pine Harbour has 9m and 10.5m berths so getting something that fits in a 9m saves money, but the 10.5's fit a 1020 so that is good if you go bigger
  10. Pine harbour is okay up to about 1.8m, young 88 would fit on one of the 9m berths there so cheaper to keep
  11. I had the Lidgard 29 AWOL, brilliant boat at the time, roomy, good head room 1.8ish, and probably the quickest of the three mentioned. Plenty of power from the 18hp diesel.
  12. Maybe, how old/condition/price is it a puffin. Can you pm me pictures? Might be smaller than what I really want but worth a look
  13. Looking for a good condition 2.6 if you have one for sale. Send me PM with details.
  14. had a call from Tyler in the states looking to get a rudder made for a Farr 38, boat is based in Akaroa so Christchurch based would be best, anyone had one built recently, either island, if you have useful info post it here as i passed on the site details but can also contact him direct on mountain.alternative@yahoo.com
  15. It is all straight forward when you see it for real , stick to the red marks, don't cut the last one and you will be fine. The cardinal markers on the north side are used by the ferries to get from Pine Harbour to Westhaven,
  16. Yep only thing to look out for is on the last red stick as you leave don't cut the corner as there is a big rock just inside it. Low tide you will see it sticking out, my rule of thumb was if that rock breaks the surface then the depth is marginal.
  17. at 1.4m I would not worry about getting in and out or Halfmoon bay, except on the very low tides if you want to go between Music Pt and Browns island. We get through on a .6 at 1.8m so you should be good down to a .2. It is well marked and has you pointing at the islands in no time. Going the long way round when you need to you wont have any issues at that depth.
  18. Any dinghy sailing coaches after work (for Opits)? MSC are after another coach for the coming season.

  24. that is excatly what happens at Pine Harbour to that point that one berth owner offered a 10% share in his berth an boat for 30k and the advert where along the lines of want a carpark close to the ferry..... that was one week after the Apartments that were on offer dropped there pants due to lack of interest but removed a carpark from the price and offered them separately at 40k. All of a sudden the two carparks with my berth have a value attached to them, I can only ever park in one of them. Nek minute you can only park in them while on your boat for boating related activities.... Let
