  1. Just back from a few days down the bottom end. Didn't need to come back, but early days of sailing with the missus on board. Planing all of February to explore Northland.
  2. I've asked. I don't think they have been active for some time. Fingers crossed
  3. Good idea. I've just asked the question if a person seeking that data a year ago. Hope he can help.
  4. Hi Scarecrow. Hope you see this.   I've had a new raven 31 which I'm enjoying, now about 6 months. I take it you have, or had a raven?  Do you have any data on them, plans etc.  I'm particularly after sail measurements.    Nick 021 2078466

  5. I've looking at a replacement main, and been searching high and low for the P and E measurements. Nothing on line as far as I can see. Does anyone in the hive know the oracle and where to find this info? TIA
  6. Think HMB is pretty on to it, customer wise, and happy to give you 5 to do this job.
  7. Cheers Vivaldi. I'm pretty sure it's the two piece kit, and is same as the 20hp drive. So, Allen keys, not bolts. Fingers crossed its an easy mission
  8. I've booked a lift and clean and want to be ready to change the yanmar 30 sail drive anode at the same time, if I can. It's a new boat to me, and I haven't had a sail drive before, so any heads up us good. 1. Is changing the anode straightforward, ie like doing a shaft anode? 2. Anyone had a problem doing thus during a lift and clean? 3. Is it straightforward with a spanner? Allan key? Any idea on size of bolts? Metric i assume? Any nothing fancy like needing a 90degree or bendy drive? Really appreciate any knowledge you can impart, so I don't get stuck on a tight
  9. Hi Ashton. Does the chromecast or dongle need to be powered separately, or just plug into the tv? There's several things that I've seen, but don't know what is applicable. One is a small thing that plugs into the tv, the other kind of has small antenna that fold out. I'll get a couple of pics of what the tv has by way of available connections. I'm not sure but I think it might have only the one hdmi port, which might be taken up with something.

  11. Maybe I need a kid from JB Hifi to help. New boat to me, has a TV. I don't think its smart though (makes two of us). I'm unsure of the connectors on the TV, but my question is, what do I need to transmit say Netflix or movies from say a tablet to the TV? Is it just a wire from one to the other or a dongle thingy. There's several things on TM but I don't really know where to start. If it's a dongle does it need its own power supply? I get bonus points from the missus if I keep her happy and entertained on board.
  12. What are great autocorrect. I did mean bimini 😇
  13. Anyone got any recommendations please? What works, what doesn't. Cheers
  14. I have an industrial sewing machine and could run it all up for a box of the cold stuff
  15. Bit of a long shot but if anyone has a railblaza 'receiver' they no longer want, I'm after just the moving lock part. Don't want to buy the whole replacement part which is well attached.
  16. Make your own for a couple of handy. Not difficult. Fabric, leather for chaff areas, couple of battens, bit of sew time
  17. Haha. No I guess not. What is that... a hundred k🤢. Apologies to all
  18. Hi. I agree with wreck removal. I agree $50 doesn't go anywhere towards removing wrecks, but the article on TV indicated $20 to $30k per removal. When there's what, maybe 2000 mooring owners adding maybe one million odd dollars per year that equates to what, 80 to 100 wrecks worth. Obviously costs will vary but I don't see the math adding up. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  19. Ash. I do recall that when that fee, $50 pa was added it was specifically to address the abandoned boats issue around Auckland. There may be a thread on Crew about that, from several years ago.
  20. There was no mention of the fact that we as mooring owners were paying for the wrecks to be recovered
  21. My query was more about the unbalanced IMHO reporting, inferring that local council was paying for it all
  22. Other than chasing owners with a written warning to pay their fees, does HM ever do anything to collect outstanding money?
  23. The issue I was making was mainly in relationship to the public perception that the general city population was paying for this through rates, which is clearly not the case. I'm guessing at the number of moorings around Auckland, but it's still bringing in what, a mil per year, plus? Are they spending that annually on the problem? I think not.
