I'm in! likely not racing Saturday, got a few more things to do on the boat and want to take things slowly, but the plan is to mosey up to GH Saturday then race Sunday. might join the Saturday race if I'm ready on time but I'm not holding my breath

hey David, thanks for sorting out my membership on here! I bought a Warwick Stratus 747 back in June. used to be named Chinook III; I've renamed her Mercury Rising. she hadn't really been touched in 18 months and was well on her way to becoming a reef, with jumbled/missing electrics, a 15hp outboard that had been left in the "down" position, and no wardrobe save for a spinnaker in great condition. I've scraped all the barnacles (and all the paint!) off the bottom and re-antifouled, ran new wiring, dropped the boom 600mm, begged/borrowed/bought some sails, got the rigging replaced, and Dami

fitted a new main and purchased everything I needed to get up to cat 3 on Saturday. expensive day! but just about ready for this Saturday's 2-handed. my first race on my boat made up for the wallet hit by going sailing on Sunday, and even earned some karma getting swamped by waist-deep water on the low side while retrieving our spinnaker pole... combination of that sea state and the reef in our main somehow shook the beak open and it started sliding off the boom. was dragging in the water before I managed to haul it back in with the help of a crewmate. gooooood times
