  1. Maximum “suggested” sizes so it’s not a mandate just a suggestion....
  2. This is an issue that’s prolific throughout NZ regulatory landscape. Imprecise wording, shoddy writing and half arsed ideas followed by egotistical idiots and a massive lack of professionalism. Not everywhere, but certainly often enough to make you go “WTF!”
  3. I’m talking about a train capacity of 1200 - every hour or 2000 in rush hour.
  4. Rather not waste that time, but at least in the train you could read, or snooze, or have a beer. Beginning of last year I was spending 1.5h each way. 2 trains and a bike ride at each end. Thank god for home office. I always felt that the Tron could have been the transport hub of the upper central NI. connections to the main Waikato towns plus rotovegas, tag/mount, Maserati, and at one point even paeroa and Thames. it’s not until you live with a decent train and public transport set up that you realise how truly liberating it is.
  5. Problem is it's not going to work and they will use it as "proof" that rail doesn't work. 3h is far too long, needs to be 45-55min, entirely possible without high-speed rail. Don't need wider rail spacing, plenty of trains in the world run fast on a narrow gauge like ours. Do need electrification of the Hamilton to Auckland stretch. Do need to put a tunnel under the hill from Pokeno directly north. Train needs to run every hour from 5am through to 11pm. This way it gives the flexibility for people to actually use it. Fast stops (2 min max) in: Te Rapa, Ngaruawahia,
  6. Call me suspicious, but I smell a rat.
  7. Finally found the time to watch races 7, 8, & 9. Holy dang! Fantastic, crazy racing. Race 9 was awesome , and I gotta say that JS and LR dished it out and schooled etnz on numerous occasions . But with a faster boat etnz just kept applying t pressure and pounced as soon as a mistake was made. Great stuff and a worthy competitors. with potentially 4 races to go, you’d have to be betting on etnz to get one more win, but I certainly wouldn’t write JS off. Never previously had any time for the guy but right now feeling I’ve been a bit harsh. he’s a class act and knows his shiit.

I would take the bbc off that list given their record over the last 5, years. upvote The Atlantic, and NYT - also exceptional quality English. Gave up on Stuff about 6y ago. RNZ for me. sometimes Washington Post
  10. Just make sure you don’t need to pee while making hot sauce....
  11. NO idea what you're talking about, Mate... Here in Zurich are some of the finest examples of architectural finesse (in concrete)...
  12. Shifted house. Spent almost 25% of my life living in a shitty 57m2 apartment at the corner of busy and crazy streets. Now we’re in 80m2 and 2nd row from the edge of town - much better for the kids. moving out. new view
  13. Point 1. agreed. the tonic might have come from the city, and a 100 buck donation doesn't go far for that. The possibility that the crew was no longer on station for that time to perhaps tend to an emergency call should also not be overlooked. Point 2. Yes. Over the last 15y, I've seen some pretty poor and unprofessional behaviour from Coastguard crews. I have and am still a member however, because they also do some good work. But by God there needs to be a serious culture shake up in NZ in general, and even on this site. Dangerous sh*t is dangerous sh*t and it doesn't ma

  16. My. Question is: how big is this shed you found this packet of veneer in? Is it your shed? and are there hitherto as yet unexplored passages, vaults and dungeons with other such treasures?
  17. Being french, it might be full of pogos...
  18. Was someone injured? There may not be any need to report some accidents unless there is third party damage (including environmental) or injury.

    Boat rage

A lack of policing will lead to vigilante justice. When law abiding people don’t have faith that the laws will be policed and enforced, they eventually take matters into their own hands. They result is rarely good. And at the end the police make a daft statement saying something like “let the proper authorities deal with it”... but they never friggin do!!!
  21. Sorry, no news. France is/was in abs out of lockdown, much the same as us here in Switzerland, so travel to the boat is not possible
  22. yeah that's possible. But if there's no antifoul? just a waterblast then back in?? A pic of the process and an entry in the log?
