  1. Has anyone thought that there may be some fee/rent relief during the lock down, particularly if it goes on for more than 4 weeks? particularly where your access/ use has been materially altered? or is this covered by force majeure?

  2. Infringement notices are sent to boat owners by the council for breaking local bylaw

I can see how they could sent a notice to the owner of a vessel that has a marina or mooring as they have a record of whose who.But come to trailer vessels who/how do they send a notice too??sure might have a boat name but there is no register or compulsory to register a vessel, law only states must display a name, maybe need a law change to display trailer registration.

Only vessel that needs to on a register is a jet ski.

not the case in Canterbury under Regional Council bylaws - all craft must have some identifying number at least 90mm high marked on the vessel...most often use their trailer number if trailer or their sailboat registration number

  3. Matt, funny to remove the old one was a broken hacksaw blade due to space constraints and a dremel from the outside...not fun. Although, I would hope this one will never need to ne removed.

5200 means a saw to get it out. Any sealant rated for underwater is ok. I usually use 4200.

  4. nice presentation Matt...Have finally purchased precision 9, zeus 3, wireless depth, speed and wind, a few triton 2s

and AIS transceiver - looking forward to installation and commissioning in due course

  5. Talking to a well known sailing ex submariner the other day...he recounted a story of a RN submarine rolling violently 400ft submerged in the Bay of Biscay during a storm..so yes I think it could affect things if the water shallows

  6. Yeah available in both. Search Marlborough Sounds Cruise Guide. It was made by the council and launched maybe 2 summers ago to try and replace the old book of a similar name. It’s fairly handy, doesn’t replace the book imo, but still useful.

agreed...doesn't replace the printed guide but very useful

  7. I have a 930 like SMU and currently have # 10. I'm moving to vivid as it is the next best thing. It is great as it availble in smaller volumes than many of the other brands. Reality is that due to Ministry of Environment concerns around Heavy metals the AF products are arguably not as effective as they once were. Vivid is a so called semi ablative...it is quite soft but it works. I have had a trial on our rudder blade in Marlborough and am impressed with its performance thus far.
