My thought was, purely and simply, here is something that we can actually do something about. Re the oil being wax like, there have been many reports over the years of an oil film on the surface, nah its just wax, Yeah right!!

and with global warming the wax will melt.

I dont have an issue with licencing if it reduces the number of dickheads out there on the water, but regrettably regimes like this dont guarantee anything.

Look at how many dickheads are on the road.

    The webpage states:

    The Race of a Lifetime

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) together with the Royal Akarana Yacht Club (RAYC) invite competitors to participate in the Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race 2023.

    While NOR states:

The Organising Authority (OA) is The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in association with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS).

  5. Interesting I sailed the DF95 down at New Plymouth on Waitangi Day at the New Plymouth Radio Sailing Club on Lake Rotomoa, one section is closed for powerboats, jet skis etc, they have to take turns on the water in 10 minute slots and going anti clockwise. All the boats are moored, anchored up against the bank in one section of the shoreline and take off from there.

Ok there is a bit of wake especially after a wakeboarding boat but we soon learnt to tack on to port and surf the waves into the top mark.

  6. In the food and dairy industries for cold water 304 & 316 stainless is used, up to 55 deg C 316 stainless and over 55 deg C 2205 stainless is used.

It starts at the eastern end of Surfdale around a mark (port) at the western end around the headland following the boats on The Esplanade port round at the eastern end of Blackpool then a port round at the western end of Blackpool and back to the finish in the middle of Blackpool. All the entries goes a to charity on the island.
