A rebuilt (tennant) catamaran called Slime has proved a winner for Mahurangi East boatbuilder John Hughes. John and his wife Juliet raced for four and a half hours across 50 nautical miles (93km) of ocean to take out the first leg in the SSANZ Safety at Sea Triple on July 9. no stranger to racing, having won the Coastal Classic between Auckland and Russell nine times on the catamarans Split Enz, and After Burner which he built in 1986. he hopes to compete in the Coastal Classic in October this year with Slime followed by the Summer Series with the New Zealand Multihull Yacht Club.

    tramp stitching

    From the album: capricorn

the all important tramps...mesh triple stitched with ptfe-teflon thread, around fibreglass rod which is individually tied / tensioned to the 20-something saddles along the float with a suitable size of standard cordage.....when it's time to remove the tramp, retention or change the cordage etc it gets cut-off and renewed

  18. apparently the best inflatable glue repairs use a special activator mixed with the contact cement the activator is not needed for normal contact glue use, like sticking down a carpet tile, but as the activator makes the glue bond much harder and more waterproof it is what the pros use to fix inflatables bostik seem to be the best suppliers of the in nz http://glueguru.co.nz/shop/PRODUCT+TYPES/PRIMERS++ACTIVATORS/B050232.html ideally you'd match it with one of the associated bostik contact adhesives at the bottom of the page above i hear 999 is the best nothing to s
