    New dodger

We occasionally use old dodgers as a pattern. Usually it's not tooooo bad but we had one recently........ oh dear The 'twisty things' are 'staput's (Stay Put....) .... and if I had a buck for the old "I just want to get one more season out of it".....................
  2. It always amazed us whenever we unloaded the boat, after a cruise to the Lakes or wherever, at the size of the pile of gear beside the boat. It all disappeared somewhere. Boats are like that ......
  3. Abso bloody lutley mate. We didnt bother with a sink. Cooking/dishes was on the cabin top either side of the hatch. Easy with full head room. Primus on the left, plastic washing up bowl on the right Have fun
  4. I sense a pull of the leg there fellas? Anyway, East side of southern Kadavu was covered in old (single, no pairs) jandals, floats and various plastic parts. This was 18 years ago.....
  5. Happy Birthday for today young man!
  6. Not a Quicksilver but did plenty on a Hartley 16 as a kid. Great little boats and on the radar for when I move out of Auckland in the nottoodimanddistant future. Got excited about building one seeing as I could do boat, spars and sails meself. Of course the smarter move would be to pick one up and do some work on it...... Haven't been to Taranaki for quite a while now. Sailed Ross 780 'Electra' there for some champs or other. Never seen the Tasman so flat for a whole week seeing as every other time I've sailed it it's tried to kill me. Great to see how well the smaller port towns
  7. Plus the Tweety Bird off Devo. Was that the one with the whopping great big propellor swirls along the topside?
  8. Summer? Tell my daughter that as she heads off to Splore for 3 days woefully unprepared. This will be good........

    spinnaker size?

Which should be 'J' + 10%. 'J' being base of the foretriangle so face of mast to forestay pin. Luffs can be 10% longer too Width is pole x 180% (that right BooBoo?)
  16. Love Rotoiti. Sailed it early 70s with the folks in a Hartley 16 along with another family in a sistership. The toilet block in Honeymoon Bay would have been nice back then.....

  19. Making teachers personally liable for accidents is next. So they'll just stop undertaking any outside school activity "Seems to me that your only duty would be to behave reasonably." Except where Mr Beaureaucrat decides you've been 'unreasonable' and destroys your life. Witness the farce where the Master of the interisland ferry that was prosecuted by MSA. Whish is run by a bunch of ex Plods who have no idea of how ships operate. Get out of our lives!!!
