Very steep contours there

Looking at the entries there’s no piedies . Are they not getting a lifeline exemption ?
-
Our plan was to only look up at the sails from Brett to Russell so we wouldn’t see any dolphins . Glad that common sense has prevailed
-
Not looking for an argument or anything but I’m sure i raced against your boat in a 96 or 97 or whangaroa race . Think it was based at KCC then
-
Yeah a bit of a rort if you can’t enter a race/series if you don’t have PHRF …like the CC for example it’s already hella expensive for the folks who aren’t millionaires
-
Na they have two handicaps …If you have a current PHRF topyacht auto loads it with your entry and they do results for PHRF . They also run EH alongside of that plus line results . Pretty good system really if you have a PHRF it’s another result to help flatten the troughs and peaks in your rating
-
I’m not sure but my last boat had a .798 handicap I think . Current boat is a bit a of caravan but I have a remote chance of beating Phil on handicap !
-
Yeah well it does sleep 4 comfortably and has a sink 😂

Entered at the supermarket checkout yesterday when I got the email 😁

Surprised that geothermal is 2nd on the list

I have storm force and it’s 3 years old now but I don’t use it for sailing now just farm work/outdoor work and it’s still good . Not a lot of progress on the sailing kit lately which is a bit of a shame , the prototype set I have has proven really very good .

Boat identification - former offshore racer (?) moored in upper harbour

It’s on a FB page called “sitting there Rotting “ think it might be a holland IOR ? Or a Farr . There’s two very similar boats , ones out east somewhere https://m.facebook.com/groups/459489185082355/permalink/638732543824684/ https://m.facebook.com/groups/459489185082355/permalink/634163734281565/ -
Yeah that was my translation too ….they favour a foam pfd for going through the surf or a controlled abandon ship over an exploder . Damn the manufacturers need to come up with a dinghy/vest style PFD with 150NM or more , but I guess the cartridges are a good earner for them

Big interior volume and large cockpit but you would have to add cruising comforts I would imagine
-
Only boat I can think of that would be faster than an 88 or a 930 in that price range would be an SR26 or maybe an Elliott 770 . And there’s also what’s news Y 8.4 which is a bit more than 40k but it’s early days and the market isn’t exactly going gang busters . sorry did you mean the 930 is not as FAT as you would like ? Or as fast ?
-
Mint Chico mate !

Yeah ex crusader

The Elliott 35SS “palby marine “ is doing this race and is currently in the leading pack . Race tracker is here http://yb.tl/rbni2022 photo is from its previous life

Bit of a drift but that reminds me of my great Aunt seeing a ketch in the manukau a few days after Olivia smart and Ben hope disappeared . It matched the water Taxi drivers description/artists depiction closely , she called it in obviously a few weeks later after the picture was released . Police didnt seem interested and never interviewed her . Quite Eerie because a ketch matching the description was also seen in that Time frame off the taranaki coast heading north , also ignored by police .
-
The boat is almost brand new so quite fortunate it didn’t get chopped up . Saw a photo of it in a marina berth still upside down !

The man deserves a medal

Just put a generator in the boot and go flat out as much as you want

Victron has very cheap units it’s if you get them from here https://victronenergy.co.nz/ I will be putting a Bluetooth job on my TY with LifePo4 battery soonish . I like the Bluetooth to smart phone function cause I can tuck it away near the battery box out Of sight . You get what you pay for with solar gear
