Go Flex are the ones I have.... and I paid quite a bit less than noted above, a lot less. They were a lot more than all others but on sussing the level of trust in the manufacture was far higher and for my application trust is very important.
Bugger, should have said "I know KM, give me a discount"!

I read that, went to a website labelled Beacon Marine and couldn't find solar panels????
Looks like they sell and install the same Goflex panels I brought direct from the NZ importer.

I have two of their long skinny GFS 50's which I am intending to mount on the foredeck. They coated the back of mine with VHB, so I just have to peel off the film and stick 'em down when I am ready to install.
They have a tread like surface and you are supposed to be able to walk on them. Not cheap.
We will see how they go after I have installed and wired them up. I've got a genasun controller for each.
My only worry is that because they will be bonded to the deck with VHB, they could well be a pain in the jacksie to take off and replace if they do crap out.

That's really generous offer partisan, I just finished to read your topic and pretty tempting... My Lombardini LDW 702 is around the same age as yours, fresh water cooled and only 280 hrs in the clock with service history. If I would change it it would be an electric drive instead of any type of internal combustion engine, for various reason (I'm pretty sure I could list up more than ten).
Anyway Is your boat is a Contessa 26? Are you doing a complete refit? How is going? C26 was on my short list and I was seriously considering to go to see one but I've got Waimanu (II) now.
I recently seen a video about a guy who sailed to Oz from UK on a Contessa 26 with a very little experience and alone of course.

I have a question which is more general than Nova related. As I mentioned earlier I noticed how crowded the prop shaft area between the gearbox and the gland packing. Apparently I can't have access to the seal itself as not enough space to remove the cap from there. I was thinking to move the engine forward by 100-150 mm or maybe a bit more but 200mm max. I know this is quite a big job and new prop shaft and engine mount involved as well (the engine mount needs to be replaced anyway).
I also expect a small improvement in the weight distribution as well but it is not that simple. I don't have any universal joint on the shaft and I want to avoid to install one therefore the engine will move forward and up. The forward move is probably a plus with no question, but the up is maybe a minus in terms of the center of gravity of the entire boat will move up (not a lot). Well I did not calculated yet but in theory... Is there any thoughts?
Get rid of your old inboard, and repower with my, year 2010 , twin cylinder 14hp Beta Diesel Engine that I am selling. Way smaller footprint engine than what you currently have I'd say, and a twin 14hp Diesel only 6 years old will have more than enough oomph for a Nova 28.
Just a thought.

If you go the Wet & Forget way, go to TARGET CLEANING SUPPLIES in Onehunga, 49 Victoria Road. They have the same product for WAY, I mean WAY less than Wet & Forget.
I've been using it on paths etc for a few years now. as always, check contents etc, don't take my word on it.
They don't do delivery though so it's helpful for Aklers only.

Anyone used one of these products with any success to keep their decks clean?
I'm trying to think of why it wouldn't work, or if there is anything in these sort of cleaners that could damage your decks paintwork? As far as I am aware - and feel free to correct me - these "walk away and let the rain do their bit" cleaning agents do not have harsh substances like ammonia, in them.

Having dropped all manner of heavy tools on the floor etc. I cannot rate this highly enough. It basically started its life as a engine bay and chasis topcoat system I think. Pete just brushed it on and you would hardly tell as it seems to have set up very nicely.
Not sure I want a glossy interior, but...might use it for my decks!

Mind you, a few cans of this Rust-o-leum stuff might do the trick, as a lot of my interior has carpet lining...or whatever the heck it is called, on the cabin sides, so it really is just the bulk-heads, wet-locker, and the cabin roof -- and she is only a 26 footer. Am yet to decide whether to install headlining on the cabin roof to help with condensation in winter.

What about the gloss versus satin / low sheen thing?
I don't have enough experience to know -- but is a freshly painted high-gloss down below too glary?

You can buy vinyl paint in spray cans from places like M10, supercheap and any autoparts shop. etc. Never tried using it myself.
Enamels are harder wearing and more water impervious. Marine and "non marine" make little difference. But don't go cheap. There are some really cheap "home handyman" paints from likes of Bunnings and they are cheap to be cheap. You find the pigments are pathetic and you need 4 coats to equal the coverage of 1 of a decent quality paint.
Acrylics are not so good at high wear and don't clean quite so easily. But it depends on where you are using it. One important thing is to never use an acrylic on a shelf for instance. You will come back in a month or two to find the items on it are now well stuck to it.
If you have small areas and want a real nice finish, try a spray can of Rust-o-leum. It's a Polyurathane and is a real stunning paint.
Ha, wife just threw the supercheap junkmail to me and it has Dupli-colour Vinyl paint, 2 cans for $30 in it.

Whats the consensus on interior paint for cabin of a GRP sailboat?
Will exterior Housepaint acrylics do ok as an interior paint?
I was thinking of Dulux weathershield or similar, with a suitable primer / undercoat.
I can buy 4 litres of that compared to the marine enamels of same quantity.
Thoughts?

I have been told the cost of reg part B was a little over $200 a decade ago.
There is NO justification for a 500% increase in that time.
Even inflation at it's worst has been well under double digits.

Best Flag of Convenience in my opinion would be Jersey or Guernsey. You get 10 years before needing to reregister, and only have to be a Commonwealth Citizen to qualify. You will need a 'Tonnage" survey, and they will advise you surveyors here in NZ that can do that on their behalf.
You get to fly the Red Ensign which might look a bit better off in your flagpole socket than something from Nigeria.
Cost initially will be near same as NZ for the certificate, but you get it twice as long, and reregister is about 75 Euro from memory.

One in Westhaven too but it's really run down. Had a look at that already - looks suspiciously like a "project"...
Cockpit is teak, but not the decks.

If you have $3,500 plus .... I did inquire due to them being one of the few who makes theirs with hypalon - but the price was just too steep.

What a pity , they were the only inflatable that would row decently.
I am yet to confirm that, but that is their reputation - which you have now also backed up. I also have been advised Avon's rowlocks were far superior to the ones used on modern inflatables.

Whatever happened to Avon, I loved them.
Ha - well, Avon were bought out by Zodiac, who then stopped making the Avon branded small yatchsmen inflatables a few years ago (RedStart, RedCrest, Rover etc). The only Avon's made now are the huge Rib type tenders for super yachts.
So, now you are stuck with the likes of Zodiac's 'cadet' range etc, which is in PVC, not hypalon fabric.
I know all this because I spent a long time trying to figure out why the hell I could not buy new Avon's in NZ, or even order them overseas.
Finally I found a lightly used Avon RedCrest on T/Me for auction - I won the auction, but boy did I pay for it as someone was trying to outbid me, obviously knowing the quality reputation of these hypalon made Avons as well - my wallet still makes whiny protests each time I open it months later.
I only have a 23 footer, and my intention will be to store the Avon on deck, aft the mast, half inflated, with the uninflated half folded up.....that is when my boat finally is relaunched and I get to sail her again. Time will tell if this arrangement will work.

"Charged with taking a child from New Zealand". Wtf? Sounds like a made up charge to me. It is his child after all. They are both Aussie citizens. What jurisdiction can a NZ court have in a custody battle when it is non New Zealand citizens involved anyway?! And, notice how the charge mentions nothing about "custody", it's "charged with taking a child from NZ"..again, WTF?!
