  1. Hi All, Is anyone using one of these for deck wash... lower pressure higher volume than the units marketed as "washdown pump"... I want less pressure to minimise the risk of lifting paint off or getting in between laminations.... if so, what was you experience?
  2. My weekends are 2 weeks long so I get a bit done #1 Teaching grandies to sail. #2 #3 Make and fit new cockpit table not sure why the one image rotated upside down. #4 Fit new and wire in distribution board... old set on right still to be removed.

    Survey costs

I will not mention names, but he was professional, prepared a very good report and yes had insurance. And he found a couple of small problems I had not despite my extensive experience. He also had industry kudos when it came to insurance matters. But as my Daddy always said, if you want top quality oats for your horse then expect to pay top dollar. But if you want oats that have already been through a horse, well you can get that a little cheaper.

That was $60 minimum charge around AKL... as you see, he did not charge any travel to Orams and back from North shore

  6. Maybe next time if there is an earthquake well north of the equator, the authorities will wait 12 hours to accurately assess the threat rather than give the media 24 hours of opportunity to spread fear using the threat of impending doom ...
  7. Check the air filter is not blocked and ensure that the engine space is not too tightly sealed.
  8. If I was having this debate with my-self... I think I would prefer conductive to combustible with possible toxic fumes... exercise caution where cables pass through and ensure that the lid does not contact the terminals if stood on....
  9. But even the effectiveness of that is becoming questionable
  10. Found it by searching "Trio" rather than "nestaway"... but at 1.07m beam it is still not what I was looking for Nestaway.pdf
  11. Can anyone identify the nesting dinghy below?... I think it is a Nestaway from the UK.. but does not show on their website. I am interested in learning more about the spec... beam in particular. There is a three piece nesting dinghy on TM at the moment, but at 1100 it is a little narrow... I would like a little more stability. I could also be interested in finding a plan for timber version or even a mold about 4m long with a 1.3 to 1.4m beam that I could finish off myself.. Anyone have any suggestions or inspired ideas?
  12. Galvanic corrosion is why I did not go down the aluminium bottle path for the main supply. I have now bought a small aluminium one for the BBQ just to watch it a while... Also used lanocote.
  13. It was a phone conversation with work safe last year that told me the problem was a requirement for a tapered thread valve and the possibility that a tapered thread in a fibreglass bottle would split the neck open. At the time they would not consider a parallel thread and o-ring... I suspect the guy was also worried at the possibility someone might try and use an incorrect thread. But would love to be proven wrong, or opinions to be changed, I would still like to buy a couple of bottles if I could get them refilled.
  14. Is actually really easy to transfer even without inverting or venting, have a short hose HP hose between bottles... leave both bottles upright, open valves and then place the one you want to fill in the fridge or freezer. Watch the level closely, it will fill totally and leave no vapour space, close the valves to stop the transfer before this happens.
  15. No, gave up. They are pretty much approved worldwide, but for NZ. Where some unintelligent govt official cannot understand thread sealing other than antiquated tapered threads. Keeping NZ in the dim dark ages. The concern is tapered threads splitting the neck open if overtightened. Composite gas bottles use parallel threads with an o-ring, a concept too complex for NZ officialdom to comprehend.
