About Me
I'm an Irish lass keen on a bit of adventure. My land job is to make comic books, mostly about science and sometimes as part of a community arts project. I have offshore experience in the Pacific (6500nm) from an attempted passage around Cape Horn as well as a couple years rum racing on Wednesday nights in Auckland. I co-skipper the classic Kauri 38' yacht Tucana as part of the Tino Rawa Trust and have gone for a few longer trips up the North coast as well as shorthanded SSANZ racing around the Hauraki Gulf. I gained my Competent Crew qualification through RYA back in 2010. I've sailed mostly monohulls from dinghies (our Northumbrian Coble Ruru is 10') to big ketches (75') and am always up for a cuppa and a yarn. My partner (and co-skipper) Matt and I would love to do some more offshore trips and hope to make our way from Europe back to NZ (or vice versa) by boat in early 2022.
