I had an ad on my facebook feed this morning - the CC distributership is for sale - $250K includes vehicle, 3 websites, $4K of stock, and the right to import/distribute for 5 years. http://truecommercial.nzherald.co.nz/businesses-for-sale/listing/1c0zxqg/

Having practiced collisions in the last race, Vestas has perfected the art to the point they can now hit another boat!! http://www.volvooceanrace.com/en/news/10854_Vestas-11th-Hour-Racing-involved-in-collision-before-finish-in-Hong-Kong.html

Wrong thread!! Should be in the one about keeping the harbours clean.

Westhaven now not wanting berth holders with permits to park at marina

That would be cheap - $24/day by Burnsco. You don't even get the health benefits of the walk. -
His VHF wasn't charged as it had turned itself on in the grab bag & discharged itself.

Credit to the vendor though! He'd bought another yacht & this one was only going to cost in time, marina fees, insurance, & upkeep until it eventially sold and not being used is not the best for keeping a boat in tip top condition. It took some guts to list at $1 reserve, although I guess he could always have someone bid for him if it didn't reach an acceptable price. Assuming he was happy with the price it reached & he can get on with enjoying his new yacht without the worry of dealing with the old one.

It's not occupied, it's there to minimse marina fees!

There was an interview with Grant D on the news the other day - he said they would not be having "internal combustion engines" to power foil movement. Being so specific about a comment made around powering hydraulics to move the foils, and pedestal grinders only, I'd assume an electric motor & batteries.

Any Marshall Law/Truxton still neck & neck. Hope Smithy's boom holds up this time around.
-
Last race Truxton beat Marshall Law in to Wellington by a minute or so, looks like they may improve on that this time around.

Although, the DTF shown on the tracker seems to be to the port itself whereas I think they only have to get within a 60nm radius to register as finishing - so finish times may be a lot closer.
-
Positions are now updated, at current speed/distance it's 5.75hrs behind - ScottiE has it!
-
Deserves a rum when he finishes!

The Harbour Master was patrolling the Tamaki River every day over the Christmas/New Year period, One time I was motoring up the river he did turn on the siren & chase a fizz boat that was clearly going too fast, I presume this would have been a regular occurrence although I've no idea of the outcome.

Have to give Conrad a big A+++ for the videos and written commentary. He must be a sponsors dream.

That's what I thought.

Looking at the cost of berth rentals at Hobsonville and the $5k "investment" in the boat, & ignoring the costs of trucking it down to Auckland, if it holds together for 4 months they should start seeing a profit.

Also, fellow NZers Chris Steele & his 36 Below team in 4th place who knocked out Ian Williams to make the semi final.

Was a recent incident with two Stewart 34's where a kite block hanging over the side punched a hole in an "adjacent" boat. Keeping them up with bungee cord would stop this happening - although not insinuating you would be in to playing dodgems Nigel.
