Would sound about right, im thinking alot of cost in design and engineering?
-
That is a possibility, but increasing our righting moment means we could use that extra sail area rather than it being drag? am curious of the costs 10 years ago Ken
-
Not really that interested in handicaps, already heavily penalised for our taller rig. we need to find more speed in pressure upwind and reaching forward of the beam and am struggling against the 1050’s with updated keels plus they have a smaller rating.
-
Was interested in peoples experiences and the true cost. im not in a financial position right now for a project like this right now but just interested to see what it would be before talking to designers etc.
-
Evening! this lockdown has given me to much time to think and have the itch or curiosity of looking into cost of upgrading keel and also if anyone have plans they are willing to share for the 1050 latest gen keel. would be interested in pushing the boundaries a bit with the std 2.3 draught and the consequences around that with keel floors and chain plates. She currently looks very strong in those areas but am not an engineer.

Sure will. Do you still have that Stack-pack for sale? Sorry sold that a while back. Have an A3 that may fit your boat that im thinking of selling, to short in the luff for us as we have a taller rig

Saw her pop up on trademe and almost go under contract immediately. What is her story? Launched 2002, did she sit around for a few years as hull and decks?

It is an Oem replacement of a Sanden 508. Will try post picture soon, it is fairly universal for mounting

Stainless brine tanks which is insulated with 100mm of foam. Surely the brine absorbs alot of the energy instead of all the energy going into the box/food
-
Hi Guys I have recently converted to electric with the evaporator plate and am wanting to make it more efficient. Currently it works well but could be better. Should i be emptying the brine tanks? And possibly filling the tanks with foam? Also currently only have evaporator plate mounted on the back face of the freezer box and have read it is more efficient to have it mounted on 2 faces. These evaporator plates can be bent so going to look into that. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks

B&G is great, wouldnt recommend Vulcan as it is only touch and with cold wet hands you get frustrated with it really quick but if it is just for cruising could be ok. We have a full b&g system and what it can do is endless but have settled with the zeus 3 as it has buttons for those cold wet nights

I check engine regularly as i do all servicing etc so no issue there, caught a loose bolt on our trip back from barrier.
-
If it is in reasonable condition definately interested!
-
Hey guys Where would i find one of these? Current one corroded and has broken so stuck with going into the engine bay to kil engine until i find a replacement.
-
Hi Guys I have a bottle of refrigerant, weighed it on some scales today and comes in at 13.3kg and new is 13.6kg. Cost me $1070 but happy to let it go for a reasonable offer to recover cost as have decided to go electric. Also have brand new oem sanden compressor, mount for a Yanmar 3gm30, brand new drier in box, condeser, sight glass and brand new tx valve if any1 is interested all is rated for R134A refrigerant.

Do you have a 2:1 halyard?
-
You would have to file export docs. I had all documentation around the boatbeing nz Built and owned in NZ for many years etc, she was previously an mz registered ship but still it came down to the boat selling overseas
-
Awesome, we have precision 9. Will have to setup heal angle.
-
Doesnt matter, if the boat sells overseas it is subject to gst. Only way around it is getting the person who exported the to re import.
-
Hey guys, yes went through this last year. coming from Aus with a boat that is aus or nz built is duty free. However if a boat sells overseas the new owner has to pay gst when entering back into the country. Value is decided from sale and purchase agreement or if you can get a valuation before leaving said country that is a less value they will take the latest value. I tried many ways to get around this and had to pay in the end. Boat got locked in Marsden Cove and wasnt allowed to leave until it was all settled. Sucks but is how it is unfortunately no matter how you think abou
-
Sorry it has sold
-
Will send a message to Grant. Thanks
