  1. the mooring between the ferry base and karaka, are they not meant to be inspected 2 yearly due to the amount of river traffic?i looked at one a couple of years ago and that was my insurance company requirement so settled for panmure.extra 1/2hr was no biggie now becoming a pain with the dry stack open and the 5knts ignored by most.
  2. Same, but we drop in everything almost frozen, set on green light 3,turn off at 10.00pm turn on at 6.30am runs 5 mins and all is good, forget about those electrix?? chew power 2 dvds a night, house battery sad now 3yrs on.
  3. /www.panuku.co.nz/westhaven With population growth and commercial development, Westhaven is now very much an inner city marina. It was purchased by Auckland Council in 2010 so that the public space could be returned to the people of Auckland for recreation and enjoyment by the sea. What part public enjoyment do they get handing out parking tickets on a weekday?yes I presume they get a lot city workers trying to park for free, but From above it seems a reasonable explanation and surely a warning is all that is needed.
  4. "Sabre" just send a cheque off for what you think is fair,estimate/quote $600,final bill $1300,rigger does not answer phone or want to discuss?so send him a cheque for say $700 and make it clear if he/she banks it that they accept this as the final price. he/she will soon be back in touch no doubt.

    Diesel engines.

Funny thing as I am/was concerned about the age of my yanmar 16hp 30yrs?? talking to a old marine engineer today and he said best thing to do is run it at almost full throttle, nice and warm, idle 2/3 minutes down and turn off. worst thing is to run at idle or above,This confirms what the Volvo dealer said the boat show regarding yanmar. change oil annually + filters do not sit on mooring and idle go for a run as batteries need a charge.
  6. www.facebook.com/kwarttonzeilers Interesting page if like 1/4 tonners There a nz www.facebook.com/NZ-14-Tonners-509576052707184 page being set up and the call is to revive the class like overseas. How can you go past an ior vessel down wind kite up and death rolling and wondering is this going to end in tears??Got in this situation awhile ago, pole squared and down haul on tight main out and she started rolling,FAaark is it going to stop, turned to 1/4 the wind and she stopped, most fun i have had for ages not!
  7. quote or estimate www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/get-guidance/contracts-quotes-and-estimates/getting-quotes-and-estimates Quotes are more exact than estimates EstimatesAn estimate is roughly how much the tradesperson or professional thinks the job will cost. They must use their skill and experience to make the estimate. The actual price may be more or less, but it shouldn’t be too much more – it should be within 10 to 15 percent. QuotesA quote is an offer to do a job for an exact price. If you accept the quote, the contractor can’t charge you more than the agreed price. Make sure t

    Prop Speed

prop speed, have seen it applied at the club and according to the applicator it does not work on all props or environments, risk one takes i guess. Heck of price off the shelf, our applicator charges about $80/$90 per prop I think. Like everything lack of use and the gremlins will grow

This morning removed stove to find rusted gas line hence why oven wouldn't ignite, drained fuel bowl and then the fun started had to bleed the motor, being an old yanmar no lift pump. They were a top tank gravity feed motor??luckily old owner had put a bulb pump in line so undid the line to injector and pumped till fuel appeared .Took a few winds before firing but appears ok now.Had a hr motoring.
